How to Study Your Bible for Kids

Kay Arthur & Janna Arndt     2001  Harvest House Publishers  Eugene Oregon

Kay Arthur takes her knowledge of Bible study to the kids in this book that is part of her Discover 4 Yourself Inductive Bible Studies for kids ages 8-12.  There are twenty volumes in this series that delve deep into the Word of God.                                                                                              Arndt brings the hook by introducing two fictional kid characters as the “M and M Detectives”.  Every child wants to solve a  mystery.  Beyond Biblical hero stories, the Bible is a mystery.  Of course detectives have to learn certain skills to help them solve a case. Children discover the deeper meanings of scripture by learning the inductive method of Bible study.  The authors teach observation, interpretation and application to deepen understanding of the scripture.                             This volume is a hands-on instruction manual teaching basic skills of study for a lifetime of discovering God’s Word.  It includes crosswords, code puzzles, vocabulary matching and mazes.  The skills are taught within the concept of scripture using the words of  Paul, Luke, and John .  The scripture portions are included in the book from the New American Standard Bible.                             The book is easily adaptable to different ages by adding or subtracting the activities and/or using a different translation of the Biblical passages. I recommend this book for parents, children’s ministry workers and homeschoolers.                                                                                                  It’s available at Christianbook.com     and amazon  https://amzn.to/3UwJXwD   As an amazon associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
